The bus from the main bus station took just under 2 hours and cost 4.20E. There are 3 buses a day. You buy the ticket on the bus. Cómpeta is located seven hundred metres above sea level, so we were looking forward to the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and Mediterranean. There was a price to pay: bends on the road and queezy stomachs!
Staying at the Hotel Balcón de Cómpeta was fantastic. The staff made us feel at home and were really kind and helpful. I had a log cabin with fridge and veranda, C had a room with a balcony. We both had views down to Torre del Mar.
C mades lunch
This is the view from the cabin.
We shopped and made our own Pisto on the first night. On later nights the pull of the pueblo was too great!
